The Poms should be worried, with Australia winning the second test at Lords and 36km away in North London Authentic Taekwon-Do Townsville was winning at the UITF Taekwon-Do World Championships, held in Hatfield. Townsville's own Nigel Paul and Krysti Rosmalen-Brinkley joined the remainder of the Australian team for the 3 day competition and once again stamped Authentic Taekwon-Do Townsvilleâs mark on the event, the club first representing there in 2013. With 570 competitors representing 31 countries the event was huge.
Months of training, conditioning and preparation proved a winner for 21yr ChoDan Krysti 2nd Dan, taking out the senior women's 2nd Dan Blackbelt Patterns, consistently overcoming her opponents by preforming the most difficult of the 2nd Dan Patterns Juche with precision and poise. She was a bit nervous at the start and it could have been won or lost there, but she found her mark and never looked back Sabum Nigel commented.
The next to compete was Veteran 6th Dan Competitor Sabum Nigel Paul in the most senior pattern 4-6th Dan division. Sabum Nigel preformed the highest pattern, also being the most difficult in Taekwon-Do Tong-Il, to whittle down the opposition one by one until in a unanimous judgeâs decision was crowned winner.
The team events followed with Sabum Nigel taking Team Gold in Veterans Power, Pattern and Special Technique, and ChoDan Krysti achieving the same results in her division, so overall for Authentic Taekwon-Do Townsville the results were 1 individual and 3 team Gold for Sabum Nigel And ChoDan Krysti.
This comes hot on the heels of fellow club member Maria Patane winning individual Gold in the coloured belts blue to red belt woman's patterns and sparring, and team silver in the special and power, in Rimini Italy just 2 weeks prior. Authentic Taekwon-Do Townsville has been having fantastic success on the world stage this year with these two International events, and I could not be happier with the results Paul said. The next advertised International is Budapest in February 2016, and we will possibly have some contenders.
